Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-ekiti in a FIRST among the prominent Nigerians...

Did you know the Vice-Chancellor was oIMG-20180531-WA0002_fuoyrne of the 164 most-important personalities in Nigeria today amidst the mammoth of 196 million citizens? This ranking is based on his successful Vice-Chancellor position in the Nigerian university system. Please watch out for the 2018 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records where this entry will be made! If the edition misses out this important entry, we will submit a vote of no confidence on it!

In advance of the Guinness publication is the State of University Education in Nigeria, 2017 by Abubakar Adamu Rasheed to which he contributed the 2017 report of your University. The Report was formally launched by the Minister of State for Education at a ceremony chaired by the Chairman of the NUC Board (please see attached photo). His Academic Eminence, Abubakar Adamu Rasheed has initiated global circulation of this volume with a plan to ensure its annual update.IMG-20180531-WA0003_fuoye

This message is to convey the ES’s personal thanks to you for being part of the project. On my side, I extend my most appreciation to you for tolerating the pressure to submit your 2017 report by due date. A handful of universities took the call lightly and were missed out in the book. No doubt, the 2019 edition will see them feature in an event they submit when due.

Secondly, the ES made a promise on the day of the launch of the Report that you will get free copies. Your Chairperson of Council and your library will be beneficiaries of this kind gesture of the ES.

Once again, congratulations!

Very sincerely,

Peter A. Okebukola, DSc, PhD, FSAN, FSTAN, FIAE, DSSE, GIOH, OFR

Distinguished Professor of Science and Computer Education, Lagos State University

Chairman of Council, Crawford University and National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)

Chairman, Board of Trustees, Caleb University

President, Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi-Africa)
