He is a professor of Civil Engineering and a professional engineer of many years standing. He has worked for a wide variety of private, public and intergovernmental organizations in teaching, research, public service, consulting and management. He was at one time a Regional Adviser to the United Nations on Science and Technology. He has worked in many tertiary institutions, including Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; University of Ado-Ekiti; Howard University, Washington, DC, USA; Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba - Akoko; Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State and currently Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.
He has also been involved in the planning, feasibility studies, design, and construction supervision and management of a number of projects, including multi-storey buildings, airports, restaurants, service stations, truck terminals, ports, Institutional Laboratories, Workshop Complexes, Academic Buildings, Hospital Buildings, Industrial Buildings, private residential buildings, and highway projects. He was a project engineer for many years with Soil Testing Services Inc., Northbrook, Illinois and a consultant to Golder Gass Associates on the construction of the Boston Public Library Addition, Boston, Mass. He was also at one time the Resident Engineer, on the Albany South Mall Project, New York State while working for Spencer, White and Prentiss, a firm of foundation and underpinning consultants.
