CITATION OF PROFESSOR OLUSOLA JOHNSON OJO - NAPE-NOELA 2017 AWARD WINNER

Sola Ojo earned his B.Sc Geology from University of Ilorin (1989) and M.Sc Geology from University of Ibadan (1992). In 2000, he obtained PhD Geology from University of Ilorin. In 2001, he was on post Doctoral research visit to Technical  University, Berlin, GERMANY. His academic career started in the University of Ilorin where he rose through ranks from Assistant Lecturer (1994) to Associate Professor (2012) and was appointed Professor of Geology in 2015 at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti.  He is currently a Head of Department of Geology.

His research interest has focused on inland sedimentary basins of Nigeria where he has been applying sedimentological, palynological and geochemical tools to unravel the stratigraphy, paleoenvironments and resource potential of the basins in collaboration with his senior colleagues, peers and students.

SPORTS IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF ANY SCHOLARLY ENDEAVOUR- FUOYE VC

It was a special occasion for the maiden presentation of medals to deserving university students who won laurels at the concluded Nigerian Universities Games (NUGA) and Ekiti State Higher Institutions’ Games (ESHIGA). The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Soremekun expressed elation over the wonderful performance exhibited by the athletes given the reason that the athletes that represented the university were only debutants in the slated competition. He stated that his administration would support sporting activities in the institution adding that management would be ready to sponsor all sporting competitions. The Don enjoined the sports committee to keep up with the task of driving sports development in the university...
