A STATEMENT FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR, FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OYE EKITI ON THE ONGOING CORONA VIRUS LOCKDOWN
I, Prof Kayode Soremekun, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), on behalf of the Council and Management, want to identify with all staff and students on this occasion of Corona virus lockdown and wish to sympathise with the nation at large at this trying period.
Let me announce that as at this moment, no staff nor student of your university is infected with the deadly virus. Let’s keep this so throughout the period of the pandemic.
To achieve this , we need to appreciate ongoing efforts at various states and tiers of government to contain the spread of the deadly virus and wish to further direct that all FUOYE staff and students should comply fully with all directives of government concerning the containment of the disease.
Don’t make unnecessary trips, follow health tips that have been widely circulated through the World Health Organisation (WHO),keep social distance and keep yourself and your family sufficiently safe.
Remember health is wealth. Sooner than later, we will overcome this challenge and resume work.
Once again, know that the university management is keeping tab on the the situation of things and will keep you abreast of developments .
