CCB SENSITIZES FUOYE STAFF
Code of Conduct Bureau Ekiti Branch, as part of it statutory duties sensitize members of staff of Federal University Oye-Ekiti in a one day seminar on “Code of Conduct for Public Officers; implication, interpretation and execution” which held on Thursday, 19th September 2019.

The Vice-chancellor, Prof. Kayode Soremekun, was represented by Prof. Ceclia Akintayo who in her opening remarks mentioned the importance of declaring ones assets and advised everyone to declare his or her assets because it is a way to curb corruption and thus, declared the seminar open.

The seminar lectures were delivered by the State Director, Mr. Akinfolarin Feyisola and his Deputy, Mr. Omobolade Solomon, explained explicitly the acts of Code of Conduct for Public Officers and how to fill the form appropriately. They stated the importance of the form to all government employees, and political office holders and informed staff of their obligation to fill the “Form CCB 1”. It is the CCB duty to ensure that this obligation is fulfilled. Also, all employees who have filled the form before should ensure that their information is updated because the CCB act states that the form should be filled every 4 years. Items that should be declared includes; cars, buildings, vacant/undeveloped plots, farm, factory, household and furniture and others. Failure to declare ones asset is considered a criminal offence and would be treated as such.

The seminar had in attendance members of staff of the institution, Dean Faculties of Science and Engineering, Prof. S. Lawal and Prof. O. Amu. The seminar was interesting as members of staff actively participated.
