The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Professor Isaac Uzoma Asuzu, has admonished students to walk closely with God to achieve their purpose in life. The Vice Chancellor gave this charge in a sermon delivered at Ikole Campus during a joint service of the Chapel of Transformation,(COT), an inter-denominational Christian gathering of students and staff of the institution.

He cited Biblical examples of men who walked with God and allowed the power of God to manifest in great works through them. Speaking on the topic: “From Communion to Dominion”, he mentioned Moses, Joseph, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego, who became instruments for Gods service and reference point for all ages.

Professor Asuzu enjoined the congregation to shun all godless acts and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. He identified Jesus Christ as the sole instrument in molding him into what he is today. “When a person allows God to direct his affairs in life, the person draws energy and focus from Him to actualize his goals”, he concluded.

In a closing remark the Ag. Registrar, Mr. Daniel Adeyemo, noted that FUOYE community was fortunate to have the Vice Chancellor not only as a secular father but also as a spiritual model. He added that while many people were ‘burning for the devil, only a few were ‘burning’ for God. He called on the students to burn for God and anchor all their activities in the campus on God for a bountiful academic yield.

Other events that added glamour to the day included a playlet presented by the Chapel of Transformation Drama group and song renditions by Ikole and Oye choir groups. Other guests among the congregation were the acting Bursar, Mr. Obadiah Dyiltu, Director, Procurement Unit, lkechukwu Areh, among other dignitaries. Membership of COT is open to all students and staff of FUOYE.
