“As Union leaders do your homework very well. Do not feed your people with wrong information to achieve inordinate ambitions.” With this charge the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Professor Isaac Uzoma Asuzu, received the recently-inaugurated executive members of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), FUOYE Chapter to his office last Thursday.

Continuing, he said, “As leaders you occupy very responsible positions. When people approach you, think twice. Be guided by your rules and regulations.” “You will not have problems with my administration,” he promised as he rounded off his speech. He however advised them to avoid rumour-mongering and to be accountable at all times.

Responding on behalf of the new NASU executive, FUOYE Chapter, the Chairman, Dada Adebayo, pledged their support to the management of FUOYE and promised to mobilize and educate their members towards the forth-coming accreditation exercises.

It would be recalled that NASU FUOYE Chapter was inaugurated on February 19, 2015 where three statutory principal officers and five Exco members were elected and sworn in to run the affairs of the new chapter. Afolabi Ganiyu emerged as secretary while Mrs. Christiana Ogbiye is the Treasurer.
