The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr. Amba Asuquo has paid a courtesy call on  the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Professor Kayode Soremekun. Mr. Asuquo said they were in the university as part of his visits to all the tertiary institutions in Ekiti State since his assumption of duties in the state in journey this year.

He expressed delight with the authorities of the university inview of the cordial relationship existing between the university management and other members of the university community as well as the host communities.

The police boss assured his host of the readiness of the police to protect lives and property of the staff and students of FUOYE within the ambit of the law.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor expressed delight with the visit while appreciating the cordial relationship between the university and the Ekiti State Police Command.

Professor Soremekun said as a law abiding institution, the university will continue to provide quality, affordable education to its teeming students and enhance the welfare of the workforce. He equallyassured that his administration will continue to collaborate with the command to ensure a crime free institution.

Senate, at its Emergency Meeting held on Tuesday, 2nd May, 2019, approved a Two Week Mid-Semester Break for First Semester 2018/2019 Academic Session with retroactive effect from Monday, 29th April, 2019. Accordingly, the University resumes academic activities on Monday, 13th May, 2019.


Meanwhile, the University Management has magnanimously granted approval that students who are yet to pay their sundry fees for the 2018/2019 Academic Session should ensure payment of at least 70% of the fees by the resumption date of Monday, 13th May, 2019.


In addition, it was further approved that the 30% balance of the sundry fees must be paid before the commencement of the Second Semester Examination for the 2018/2019 Academic Session.


These decisions are hereby communicated for your information and strict compliance.
