The management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), and some members of staff have contributed generously to clear the bills of a surgical operation being urgently demanded for a 400 Level student of the University, Miracle Ayodele. Their donation also covered other logistics.
Miss. Ayodele was admitted at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) after an unfortunate auto accident around Basiri area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Ayodele, had earlier on Friday, sent out a passionate appeal to governments, corporate bodies and individuals to assist her financially towards undergoing surgery to remove her right leg.
Speaking with journalists, Ayodele’s mother confirmed that the patient had undergone a surgery which cost almost three hundred thousand naira but the doctors confirmed that the leg would have to be removed to save her life.
She said the surgery would cost over two hundred thousand naira calling on good spirited individuals, government and corporate bodies to come to her aid.
In a swift response to the development, members of the management team and some other members of staff, moved with sympathy after reading the touching news report on the various WhatsApp groups of the University community, donated money which covered her medical surgery and other logistics.
