The Federal University Oye-Ekiti has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) Osodi/Lagos.
The MOU was to create collaborative effects in the area of research and development using local raw materials. Speaking at the event ,the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Soremekun said the doors of his administration where widely opened for such positive collaboration assuring that he would provide all needed support for the engagement to succeed.
In her remarks the Director general of FIIRO, Professor(Mrs)Gloria Elemo said her Institute has confidence in FUOYE in view of the strides recorded by the Soremekun administration and assured that FIIRO will fulfill its own part of the bargain. Also speaking, Dean Faculty of Science, FUOYE, Professor Olayide Lawal said the decision to sought collaboration could not have come at a better time in view of the quest for research and Innovation in the faculty.
Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the leaderships of the two Institutions was a prelude to a public lecture with the theme;’ ”Fostering Collaboration between Research Institutes and Universities toward Commercializing Research Products which was delived by the Director general of FIIRO, Professor Gloria Elemo, at the faculty of science Auditorium.
