The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye Ekiti, Professor Kayode Soremekun has described the petitions and allegations on the social media as malicious and attempt to thwart efforts geared to put the institution on a sound footing.
In a chat with Radio Nigeria Progress FM in Ado-Ekiti, Professor Soremekun observed that allegations of lack of infrastructure, recruitment racketeering, undue promote, fraud and insensitivity to workers and students welfare were framed up to undermined the institution’s authority.
While speaking on his achievements in less than three years in office, Professor Soremekun explained that the University had moved from five facilities to seven while the number of academic programmes had been expanded from twenty five to fifty nine and thirty-five infrastructure.
He said all the courses offering were duly accredited by the National University Commission, NUC and as well adjudged to be the fastest growing university among the ten Universities established by the former president Goodluck Jonathan.
The FUOYE Vice Chancellor called on the petitions writers to always get the facts and figures before rushing to the media saying that blackmail and get him-down-syndrome using by some group of people would not engender meaningful development in the institution.
