Meet Dr Emmanuel Afolabi BAKARE,  Team leader,  Laboratory of Modeling in Infectious Diseases and Applied Sciences(LOMIDAS)  Department of Mathematics, Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State,  Nigeria. Recipient of the Swiss Government Excellence and Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics and  Awardee.

1, Each year the Swiss Confederation awards Government Excellence Scholarships to promote international exchange and research cooperation between Switzerland and over 180 other countries. Recipients are selected by the awarding body, the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS). The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are aimed at young researchers from abroad who have completed a master’s degree or PhD and at foreign artists holding a bachelor’s degree. He has been appointed as a Postdoctoral Scientist in Malaria Modelling at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, University of Basel, Switzerland.

2, Regular Associates
Associateships are six-year awards intended exclusively for scientists between the ages of 36 and 45 and working in developing countries. If this condition is not fulfilled the Associateship privilege is either suspended or cancelled, depending on the case. I have been selected as a Regular Associate of the ICTP for a period of six years with a minimum duration of 30 days and a maximum of 60 days associateship visits in a year for research. ICTP is the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics, Trieste,  Italy.
