The Project Monitoring & Environmental Services Unit of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is responsible for ensuring that University projects are executed in accordance with approved plans, timelines, budgets, and quality standards, while maintaining environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance. The Unit plays a critical oversight role in safeguarding institutional resources and promoting sustainable development across all University projects.
As a public university entrusted with public funds and community impact, FUOYE relies on this Unit to ensure transparency, accountability, and environmental stewardship in all capital and developmental initiatives. The Unit supports Management in delivering projects that are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with institutional priorities.
Scope
The scope of the Project Monitoring & Environmental Services Unit covers all University projects and environmental management activities. Its scope includes: ▶Monitoring of capital and infrastructural projects
▶Evaluation of project performance and compliance
▶Environmental impact assessment and management
▶Environmental sustainability and waste management
▶Compliance with environmental laws and regulations
▶Reporting on project progress and outcomes
The Unit works closely with Works & Services, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and University Management to ensure effective project delivery.

Responsibilities, Services, and Duties
The Project Monitoring & Environmental Services Unit performs the following core responsibilities:
▶Monitoring ongoing and completed projects to ensure compliance with approved designs, budgets, and timelines
▶Conducting site inspections and progress evaluations
▶Preparing project status reports for Management and relevant committees
▶Ensuring adherence to environmental standards and sustainability guidelines
▶Coordinating environmental impact assessments for new projects
▶Promoting environmentally responsible construction and operational practices
▶Managing waste control, sanitation, and environmental hygiene initiatives
▶Advising Management on project risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance issues
▶Supporting audits and regulatory inspections related to projects and environmental management
Through these responsibilities, the Unit ensures that development initiatives are accountable, sustainable, and environmentally compliant.
