The Works & Services Department of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is the University’s central unit responsible for the planning, development, maintenance, and management of physical infrastructure and essential services. The Department plays a vital role in supporting the University’s academic, research, and administrative activities by ensuring a safe, functional, and sustainable physical environment.

Scope

The scope of the Works & Services Department covers all physical facilities and utility services across the University’s campuses and facilities.
Its scope includes:
▶Construction and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure
▶Electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering services
▶Water supply, sanitation, and drainage systems
▶Roads, landscaping, and environmental aesthetics
▶Power generation and energy management
▶Facility repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance
The Department works closely with Management, Project Monitoring units, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure quality delivery of services.

Responsibilities, Services, and Duties

The Works & Services Department performs the following core responsibilities:
▶Planning, supervising, and maintaining University buildings and infrastructure
▶Managing electrical installations, power systems, and energy utilities
▶Overseeing water supply, plumbing, sewage, and waste management systems
▶Maintaining roads, walkways, landscaping, and outdoor facilities
▶Ensuring timely repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance
▶Supporting new construction projects and infrastructure expansion
▶Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and building regulations
▶Advising Management on infrastructure needs, upgrades, and sustainability strategies
▶Coordinating with contractors and service providers for quality assurance
▶Supporting emergency response related to infrastructure failures
Through these responsibilities, the Department ensures uninterrupted service delivery and a conducive learning and working environment.
