The Evolution of the Alumni Association, Federal University Oye Ekiti (AAFUOYE)
Genesis and Growth
Our Genesis and Growth From a pioneering cohort of 2014/2015 graduates to a thriving global network, the AAFUOYE has grown into a cornerstone of the university community since its inception in 2015. During its early phases, a dedicated 7-member committee laid the crucial groundwork, carving out a formidable path for the generations of alumni to follow. By 2019, this foundational work culminated in the establishment of a full-fledged executive council led by pioneer President Arogundade Temitope. This transition marked a significant turning point, propelling the association’s trajectory towards sustained growth made possible by the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
A Mission-Driven Community
A Mission-Driven Community At the heart of the AAFUOYE is a clear, three-pillar mission: championing the welfare of our members, cultivating a symbiotic relationship with our alma mater, and actively driving the institution’s overall advancement. From day one, the association’s leadership has prioritized harmonious and highly productive ties with alumni, the university administration, and the broader academic community. We hold boundless appreciation for the conducive environment that has nurtured this journey since the assumption of the substantive executive council.

Milestones and Impact
Milestones and Impact Over the years, the association has evolved from a fledgling group into a dynamic organization, achieving a commendable array of milestones. Rather than just existing, the AAFUOYE has actively shaped the university experience across three core areas:→Member Empowerment & Welfare: We have prioritized the success of our graduates by providing startup grants and support, expanding our professional social network, and offering dedicated post-graduation assistance alongside staff development initiatives.
→University Advancement: We are deeply invested in the physical and academic growth of FUOYE through direct endowments, donations, the alumni secretariat building, scholarship opportunities, and outstanding graduate awards.
→Institutional Representation: The association has secured an influential voice in the university’s future. This is highlighted by our official recognition, active university representation, stronger overarching relations, and a coveted seat on the university governing council.
A New Era of Global Leadership
A New Era of Global Leadership In cumulative reflection, these achievements stand as tangible manifestations of the association’s unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership capacity, and unswerving commitment to enriching the alumni experience. This era of foundational building reached its pinnacle in January 2026 with a peaceful, historic transition of power. As the Arogundade-led pioneer administration passed the baton to Taye Ojo, the second global president of AAFUOYE, the association officially entered its next chapter; ready to expand its global footprint and continue building upon a legacy of excellence.
