Welcome to the Psychological Service Center of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE). The Center serves as the University’s professional mental health and psychological support unit, established to promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and psychological stability within the academic community. It provides structured, confidential, and ethically guided services that support students and staff in navigating academic pressures, personal challenges, behavioural concerns, and life transitions.
In recognition of the growing importance of mental health in higher education, FUOYE has positioned the Psychological Service Center as an essential component of its student-centred support framework. The Center integrates preventive care, early intervention, crisis response, and developmental programmes to ensure that members of the University community receive timely and professional support.
Scope
The Psychological Service Center operates across the entire University community and delivers services through individual engagement, group interventions, outreach initiatives, and institutional collaboration.

The Center works in close coordination with Student Affairs, Health Services, academic departments, Security Services, and University Management to ensure a holistic and integrated wellbeing framework.

Responsibilities, Services, and Duties
The Psychological Service Center is responsible for:

Delivering confidential, evidence-based counselling services

Conducting psychological assessments and behavioural evaluations

Providing crisis management and trauma-informed support

Developing campus-wide mental health awareness campaigns

Supporting students experiencing academic distress or adjustment difficulties

Advising on policies related to student welfare and mental wellbeing

Conducting workshops on coping skills, time management, and emotional regulation

Maintaining strict ethical standards and confidentiality protocols

Monitoring mental health trends and advising Management on preventive strategies
