About the Office
The Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC) is the apex administrative and academic coordination centre of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE). It provides overall leadership for the University’s vision, strategy, governance, and stakeholder relations, while ensuring that teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement are delivered to nationally and globally competitive standards.
The OVC drives institutional coherence across campuses, faculties, directorates, and units—aligning policy, performance, quality assurance, and resource stewardship with FUOYE’s mandate as a federal university. The Office also serves as the primary interface between the University and its Governing Council, Senate, regulatory agencies, government, industry partners, alumni, donors, and the wider public.
The Vice-Chancellor: Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, the fifth substantive Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, is an accomplished academic and university administrator, appointed to assume office in February 2026.
Notably, he previously served as Vice-Chancellor of Bowen University, Iwo (2018–2023) and was FUOYE’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships, Research, Innovation & Linkages — DVC, SPRIL) prior to his appointment as Vice-Chancellor.

Functions of the Office

The Office of the Vice-Chancellor works through a well-defined governance and management structure to ensure effective coordination, accountability, and service delivery across the University. Senior Technical Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor
Core Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Technical Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor provides high-level technical, analytical, and administrative support to the Vice-Chancellor in the execution of institutional responsibilities. The role is strategic and requires discretion, competence, and efficiency.
Key duties include:
- Providing technical and research support on policy, academic, and administrative matters
- Assisting in the preparation of briefs, reports, speeches, and official documents for the Vice-Chancellor
- Coordinating and monitoring strategic projects and initiatives under the Vice-Chancellor’s office
- Supporting data analysis, documentation, and decision-making processes
- Liaising with faculties, directorates, and external stakeholders on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor
- Tracking implementation of directives and ensuring timely follow-up on assignments
- Assisting in organising meetings, high-level engagements, and official visits
- Managing confidential information with a high level of professionalism and integrity
- Supporting digital, technical, or innovation-driven initiatives within the Vice-Chancellor’s office
