The Directorate of Career Services is a strategic student-support unit of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), established to enhance graduate employability, career readiness, and successful transition from university to the world of work. The Directorate provides structured career development programmes that equip students with the skills, exposure, and guidance required to compete effectively in national and global labour markets.
Recognising the evolving demands of the workplace, FUOYE positions career development as a core institutional responsibility. The Directorate therefore works proactively with academic units, employers, alumni, and industry partners to align student competencies with workforce expectations and emerging career pathways.
Scope
The scope of the Directorate of Career Services spans all students and recent graduates of the University, across faculties and academic programmes.
Its scope includes:

▶Employability skills development
▶Internship, industrial training, and work-based learning support
▶Graduate placement and labour-market engagement
▶Entrepreneurship and self-employment preparation
▶Alumni career engagement and mentoring
▶The Directorate operates in close collaboration with faculties, Student Affairs, external employers, professional bodies, and industry stakeholders.

Responsibilities, Services, and Duties
The Directorate of Career Services performs the following core responsibilities:
▶Providing career counselling and academic-to-career guidance for students
▶Organising employability training in areas such as communication, leadership, digital skills, and workplace ethics
▶Coordinating internship, industrial attachment, and experiential learning opportunities
▶Facilitating career fairs, employer engagement sessions, and recruitment events
▶Supporting students in career planning, CV development, interview preparation, and job search strategies
▶Promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-employment pathways
▶Maintaining partnerships with employers, industries, and professional organisations
▶Tracking graduate outcomes and employability indicators for institutional planning
▶Engaging alumni as mentors, speakers, and industry connectors
Through these services, the Directorate ensures that students are career-ready and adaptable in a dynamic global employment environment.
