FUOYE Ventures is the commercial and enterprise arm of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), established to translate the University’s intellectual, physical, and human resources into sustainable revenue-generating ventures. The unit operates as a strategic platform for entrepreneurship, innovation commercialisation, and financial sustainability, in line with global best practices for public universities.
As a public institution, FUOYE recognises the importance of diversifying income sources beyond statutory funding while maintaining transparency, accountability, and alignment with its academic mission. FUOYE Ventures therefore serves as a structured mechanism for managing business initiatives that support institutional development, student training, and community engagement.

Scope

The scope of FUOYE Ventures covers all approved commercial, income-generating, and enterprise activities of the University. Its scope includes:

▶Commercialisation of research outputs and innovations
▶Enterprise development and consultancy services
▶Public–private partnership initiatives
▶Skills-based production and service units
▶Support for student and staff entrepreneurship initiatives
FUOYE Ventures operates in collaboration with academic departments, research centres, Innovation & Digital Technology, and external partners to ensure synergy between enterprise activities and the University’s core mandate.

Responsibilities, Services, and Duties

FUOYE Ventures performs the following key responsibilities:
▶Identifying, developing, and managing viable business and income-generating projects
▶Commercialising research outputs, intellectual property, and innovations
▶Managing University-approved ventures in agriculture, services, production, and consultancy
▶Supporting entrepreneurship training and experiential learning for students
▶Facilitating partnerships with the private sector and industry investors
▶Ensuring proper governance, financial accountability, and regulatory compliance of ventures
▶Advising Management on enterprise development opportunities and sustainability strategies
▶Creating platforms for staff and student participation in enterprise initiatives
▶Promoting innovation-driven and socially responsible business practices
