The Security Services Unit of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is responsible for safeguarding lives, property, and institutional assets across the University’s campuses. The Unit provides a structured and proactive security framework that supports a safe, peaceful, and orderly environment conducive to teaching, learning, research, and community life.

As a public university serving a diverse population, FUOYE places high priority on campus safety, risk prevention, and emergency preparedness. The Security Services Unit operates in alignment with national security regulations, University policies, and best practices in campus security management.

Scope

The scope of Security Services covers all security-related operations and risk management activities within the University.
Its scope includes:
▶Campus surveillance and access control
▶Protection of students, staff, visitors, and University property
▶Crime prevention and incident response
▶Emergency preparedness and response coordination
▶Security risk assessment and threat management
▶Collaboration with external security agencies
The Unit works closely with Management, Student Affairs, Works & Services, Health Services, and relevant law enforcement agencies.

Responsibilities, Services, and Duties

The Security Services Unit performs the following core responsibilities:
▶Providing round-the-clock security coverage across campuses
▶Monitoring access points, patrol routes, and surveillance systems
▶Preventing and responding to security incidents, threats, and emergencies
▶Enforcing University security policies and access regulations
▶Conducting security risk assessments and safety audits
▶Coordinating emergency response and evacuation procedures
▶Liaising with law enforcement and security agencies when required
▶Supporting the safety of official events, examinations, and campus activities
▶Promoting security awareness and safety education within the University community
▶Advising Management on security risks, preparedness, and mitigation strategies
Through these functions, the Unit ensures a secure and orderly campus environment.
