About the Programme

The programme covers fish biology, aquaculture systems, water quality management, and post-harvest handling. Students explore hatchery operations, disease control, and sustainable practices using IoT monitoring. Emphasis on marine and inland fisheries integration. Graduates pursue careers in aquaculture enterprises, fisheries management, and international conservation projects.

Programme Philosophy

The programme is premised on sustainable intensification of aquaculture to meet rising demand without ecological harm. It blends biology, engineering, and economics with modern tools like biofloc systems and genetic improvement. Graduates address overfishing, habitat restoration, and value addition, contributing to nutritious food supplies, livelihoods, and resilient aquatic environments.
