Welcome to the Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), where knowledge integration drives innovative solutions to complex global challenges. Our Faculty brings together diverse disciplines to promote collaborative learning, critical inquiry, and transformative research. Through our departments in Data and Information Science, Food Security and Environmental Biosciences, Gender and Development Studies, and Governance and Administration, we equip students with analytical depth and interdisciplinary competence. We prepare graduates to think beyond boundaries, address emerging societal needs, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable development locally and globally.

About the Faculty

The Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies is designed to respond to interconnected global realities that require integrated knowledge systems. By combining data science, agricultural sustainability, governance, and social development, the Faculty fosters a learning environment that encourages innovation, evidence-based policy, and inclusive growth. Academic programmes are structured to promote research collaboration, experiential learning, and cross-sector engagement. Through interdisciplinary teaching and applied research, the Faculty strengthens institutional capacity to address societal needs while preparing graduates for leadership roles across public institutions, industry, civil society, and international development organisations.

The Faculty addresses complex challenges that demand interdisciplinary responses. These include data-driven decision-making in governance and industry, sustainable food systems and environmental resilience, gender equity and inclusive development, and accountable public administration. Through integrated research and applied learning, the Faculty contributes solutions to food insecurity, climate change adaptation, digital transformation, social inequality, and governance reform.
